Singing

Every night before bed, we usually sing 3 songs to Evan... Tonight he asked me to sing him the Bubblegum song. As hard as I tried, I could not sing of a song that had bubblegum. "How about lollipops?" "No, bubblegum - like this..." He then went into about a 1 minute song that he made up all about bubblegum and butterflies and balloons - when he finished he said "like that - sing that". What could I do, I just laughed.

One other cute bedtime story... We were talking about making something feel better - and Evan said "I will do that when I am a Doctor" and I asked him why did he want to be a Doctor, and he said, "because I like to make my friend's feel better". Awwwww.

Getting better every day

So today was a big day. Today, Evan wore his pull-ups all day, we went out to a show, to a Supermarket, all over - he peed in the potty like a big boy with absolutely no accidents - a few times he said he needed to poop, but nothing happened, I think he had pooping shyness while we were out an about. Then once we got home, he sat again on the toilet, but said he couldn't do it, so I went downstairs to unpack the groceries, and lo and behold a few minutes later he shouted down "Mom, I pooped." When I went up, in fact he had, I wiped him and that was that. It happened again a few minutes after that. So exciting!

Catching up

So it is time to move the Evan updates over onto a blog page... I felt constrained only able to write updates from home... this way both Steve and I can post the latest info whenever it occurs to us.

So the latest - yesterday we went to see Dora the Explorer Live - Evan had a great time, not that you could have told that by looking at him, he kinda looked like a deer in headlights the whole time, taking it all in. After, he was the most patient boy ever - he waited through our "7 courses of beef" at the vietnamese restaurant in chinatown (yum by the way). He has been doing amazing using the potty - yesterday he stayed dry all day! The pooping is another story, but we're working on it. Let's see what else since I last posted - he is now sleeping in a bed (we took one side off his crib) it is very convienient for telling stories and cuddling.

Some cool stuff that he is saying now - yesterday while we were out walking in Boston, he said "Can I watch Dora once we get home" - Once!? Crazy. It is funny - Evan picks his words incredibly carefully - he always wants to make sure people are able to understand exactly what he is trying to say.

He is still amazing me with his computer skills - he can turn on the machine, double click on a virtual drive manager, double click on the game he wants, click the .exe file and then play the game. Right now he is web surfing on Playhouse Disney. Very focused on what he is doing.
